  • The Charites or the Graces numbered three (or perhaps more) in Greek myth. Symbolizing charm, beauty, nature, creativity, goodwill, and fertility, they were the daughters of Zeus (the horndog) and the ocean nymph Eurynome. Of the three Hesiod mentions, Aglaea, Euphrosyne, and Thalia, the first and youngest went on to become the wife of the god of the forge Hephaestus after Aphrodite skipped out on him in favor of Ares. They're usually depicted in groups of three and although the Greeks showed them as dancing fully clothed, Romans and onward (the horndogs) frequently depicted them in the nude.
