Description

It took 2 days to render this thing (720 frames at 12 fps), and the temporal denoiser added some funky visual artifacts on the small transitions. There are some other issues, but I don't think it matters. I'm gonna add the sound effects on the weekends, and post that separately.

Cycles animations are a mistake. One that I'm gonna repeat cuz I love the engine. At least for short animations.

Cynthia (the synth) is made by @furromantic, highwire model by @NyaaSapphire. The room, as stated before, was made by @AngryKarakuri.

  • i hope this one can get a higher framerate next time XD, also i can already see why the rendering took so long, putting aside the graphic card

  • Rendering on Blender is definitely extremely time consuming. It becomes choise between samples, resolution and framerate.
I could definitely leave my 2080 Ti to crunch more frames for this if needed.

    Rendering straight video.

Even though I don't do animation, I can tell you immidiately that never render directly to video, neither SFM or Blender. If there's any issue you need to start from very beginning.
    PNG image sequence.

One thing that's great about doing an image sequence is that you can start and stop it at any time with Blender. It's good for me when I render something over the course a few days since I also use the system to game on.
