    Evolution nlt being age based can make for some very wack misidentification of age in pokemon.
    A ralts could be 50 years older than a gallade, and no one would know

    Evolution is based on environmental factors, and has nothing to do with the age of the Pokemon. The misconception seems to be that because IRL animals who go through metamorphosis do so based on age, people try applying that logic to Pokemon, which doesn't make sense when you think about it. Applying real world logic to the Pokemon world quickly makes a lot of things fall apart in the logic.
