The king is so afraid his son won't stand a way to bring Farin back to life that he just turned on the mode, “Son, I know your future husband will die if we don't help him, but you're not ready.”. And this is where many have expressed exactly the thought I support: the old man should have let Sekk'ral and Farin go back the first time, allowing them to return to their home cave. But no, he went into an “I'm in charge here” state and sent the general to catch up with his son and take the fox away the second time. And now he sees the result of what he has done with his stubbornness. I think if the characters could check the script for this moment, Farin would have only one thought, “Are you kidding me?!”
