  • Me, when someone complains about Silksong:
    a) being cancelled
    b) taking so long
    c) being in development hell
    d) 's radio silence

And generally being Karen, stating that "that's their favorite game" and that's why "they don't care anymore, hmph" and "won't get it when it releases" etc. This kind of people are why I hate the community. No, there is no radio silence. If you close your eyes and plug your ears, of course you won't see or hear anything. And any argument about "but Toby Fox this, Toby Fox that". Nobody cares about Toby Fox. It's different kind of game with different kind of update policy. And no spoilers from the game itself is not equivalent of radio silence. We've got 2 or three trailers, one 30-minute gameplay video and other news and people call this radio silence. That's toxic. And they are not obliged to give us any more spoilers from the game. That's their choice that they want to keep it hidden until the game releases. And yes, we know it's in development, because they constantly say so themselves. All these delusional people at Nintendo Direct chat that spams and behave like monkeys who escaped from zoo... Man. There is a limit to the opinion. Constructive criticism is not making lies to create a chaos for you to justify toxicity. It's criticizing, IN A CIVIL WAY, what you don't like. But criticizing must refer to something that actually happens, unlike "radio silence", that is a lie. Three guys are making sequel that is around twice as big as the first game that was already one of the biggest games ever created and people are surprised it's not done in a month and they don't constantly give us update what they are working at? Somehow when we don't know ANYTHING about new AAA title, nobody calls it radio silence. You want to know what radio silence is? Half-Life 3. This is radio silence. We don't even know if they even consider making the game. But Hollow Knight: Silksong? Yes, we do it's in development. Many people don't know that original Hollow Knight was in terrible technical state at release. It still isn't in best state even after years. It was a spaghetti code. This was literally an amateur project. They learned a lot and want to make the game better. Ask a renowned speedrunner fireb0rn about how bad was the game on release. He knows the game through and through, as th day one speedrunner. He knows glitches and how the game works in technical side. He is well aware of how poor it was at first. So there is a lot of challenges for THREE PEOPLE to overcome. Not only making sequel better gameplay-wise, but also not making same mistakes from technical side. And there are fans having high expectations too. It's a lot of pressure. And I will say this again. These are three amateur guys, who just happened to make a game that became a top indie game, because of their passion. They didn't have much experience before.

Also no tl;dr version. If you think this is too much text, then it's on you. That's just few sentences. But generally, Team Cherry are the goats. Hateful pseudo-criticism is uncalled for.

Better make this into a post on r/silksong so more people who are likely to complain will see this.

You'd (maybe not) be surprised by just how much of the furry fandom A) visit this site even if they present a pure innocent-ish demeanor outside of it and B) are into especially cartoony/artsy-styled video games. But yeah I agree & absolutely 100% back up Dorumon's post
