Also, I find it disheartening browsing through these FurID posts, and seeing all the people horny shaming, like the "porn addiction" comment in that Goku post. I just don't get it, who protests on the side of something... while also trash-talking the thing they're supposed to like?

It seems the general consensus about porn is that it's bad, that people are better without it. Artists are praised for moving on from it, No Nut November is a thing people actually care about, any interest in porn is labeled as an addiction, the corruption sub-genre of porn portrays sexuality as being an affliction, hell, this very site blankly labels horny comments as being "creepy"

That's not even mentioning how people will always, when given the chance, belittle porn in comparison to other genres. It seems that people don't even see porn AS a genre, with phrases like "plot with porn" implying that sexual situations offer nothing to advance a story, that they only exist to be gooned to before you get back to the "real story"

How long do you think these charades will last? Porn's detractors outweigh its supporters across the political spectrum, and the people that DO support it don't even seem to like it. How can you expect to argue that age verification suppresses the freedom to express something you don't recognize as art?

I do genuinely like porn. Sure, it's in an awful state right now, but I do respect it as a genre, and believe there's great things that could be done with it if people were to take it seriously and explore what's possible. But, as it stands, when all porn has on its side is a bunch of people who view it as a vapid form of coping, my hopes aren't that high
