King K. Rool is the arch-rival of Donkey Kong and the Kongs. He is the primary antagonist of the Donkey Kong Country series and he is the monarch of the Kremlings hence his "King" title. He made his first appearance in 1994 in the first Donkey Kong Country game for the SNES.

He has received countless comparisons to Super Mario Bros.'s Bowser and is Donkey Kong's answer to Bowser.

He proudly wears a golden crown and dons a studded red cape along with golden wrist cuffs and a golden plate of armor over his belly.

(And yes, his name is a pun on "King Cruel".)
