Description

-If I missed any tags, please fill them for me.

So I wanted to fix this as it was too fast, but I couldn't get in contact with the animator, so I had to edit-slow them down to make it fit the pace I wanted.

  • I'm a big fan of whatever that small cute fox thing is that has multiple tails, very adorable as it was probably the one thing I payed most attention to whenever it came up 😭

  • This has the feeling of being like a recap to a typical 18+ anime with hundreds of episodes being condensed into two minutes, it probably would have been better to showcase the actual game footage in my opinion.

  • So your trailer for the game contains no footage of the actual game (Besides screenshots that are covered up by tons of text)

Yup, that's how the big game devs do it.

Just wanted to something silly... but yeah... I'll most likely take this as a big feed back.

I don't know how I could animate a 3D trailer for a 3D game if I am 100% sure that if it looked very different (imagine like if Zapor did the trailer but doesn't look like Zapor's 3D quality once you boot up the game), it would have gotten worse responses. So I picked a somewhat safe choice with 2D and have been posting some game-related content at the end and on my other social media.

This doesn't make sense, you were worried it would look entirely different so you deliberately choose to make it completely something else entirely?

That being said, what was meant was to use the game itself as... basically everyone ever does, it shouldn't look that different when it's the game itself, maybe just minor things to do with quality settings, but that's not something most would consider to be unexpected.

  • I was expecting to see some kind of visual novel in the same style as the animation. The sudden 3D screen shots gave me huge whiplash and the stark difference kind of leaves me disappointed altogether.

You don't have to animate a 3D trailer to advertise your game. Plenty of people have done trailers with still images "animated" in fancy ways.

I'm still not sure what kind of game this is, but if it's a VN, I'd suggest looking at how other VN trailers look that don't have some kind of fancy animation for a trailer. The animation is decent, but I think it shouldn't be the first thing you see when selling your game with a completely different medium or art style, at the very least.

  • This entire situation:

(in full agreement, a few screenshots and the artwork not being actual gameplay does not a good trailer make. You know why FF7 rebirth had hit sales? Gameplay was leaked very early on of the actual game. And the gameplay delivered in being highly enjoyable, especially combat.)

  • Truly, thank you all for the feedback. I'll hopefully fix this with the next trailer and just do gameplay instead. I'll look into VNs (I just have to figure out what that stands for) as well.

Instead, if possible, give the animator some love, a follow, and such, as this is quite a request.

Until then, thank you all, and I hope you enjoy the game if you decide to check it out.

I was literally watching this without sound and thought to myself: "This is so fast paced and jumpy, I feel like there should be stereotypical anime opening theme music playing over this."

    And sure enough...

  • if this game has a million fans, im one of them.
if this game has 5 fans, im one of them.
if this game has 10 fans, im one of them.
if this game has 1 fan, thats me.
if this game has no fans, im no longer on this earth.
ill support this game until my very last breath or something i guess.

I assume they mean Visual Novels

Here I thought it was a game like "Viral Notes" or something- well, that is something already taken care of then. I just will have to fix up my goof pretty much-- even if this did get like -300 it did help advertise the game.

  • Even Neil Breen movies make more sense than this.

Slowing down the animation was definitely the wrong choice, it clearly needs about twice the fps to not look like a slideshow. Some transitions are nice, but that's the only positive I could find.

  • It's a bit of a mess, but I see the intent of what you're trying to make. I love the scene transitions where it goes down the characters' throats.
